While Netflix's original series "The Glory" is gaining huge popularity, author Kim Eun-sook, who wrote "The Glory," explained the meaning of various materials in the work.
Netflix Korea released a video titled "Kim Eun-sook, Writer Ahn Gil-ho, Behind-the-scenes Commentary of Actors" on its official YouTube channel on the 6th. The video featured writer Kim Eun-sook, director Ahn Gil-ho, leading actors Song Hye-kyo, Lee Do-hyun, Lim Ji-yeon, and Yeom Hye-ran. They talked about the behind-the-scenes stories while watching the main scenes of "The Glory."
"The Glory" depicts a desperate revenge that a woman who was broken to her soul by violence in her childhood has carefully prepared for her whole life.
The green shoes that Park Yeon-jin (Lim Ji-yeon), the perpetrator of school violence, received from her husband Ha Ha-young (Jung Sung-il) appeared several times in the play, drawing attention. In particular, the scene where Park Yeon-jin's daughter Yesol (played by Oh Ji-yul) was confused with her mother's green shoes was an important scene suggesting that Yesol's father was Jeon Jae-joon (played by Park Sung-hoon), a color weak, not Ha Ha-young.
In response, author Kim Eun-sook said, "I put in the inheritance of colorants and these settings, and I colored my shoes green," adding, "Red is too common." Writer Kim Eun-sook also said, "Many people asked about the meaning of green shoes," adding, "It's not all meaningful to the writer." When Lim Ji-yeon said, "I was going to ask, too," writer Kim Eun-sook said, "Yeon-jin's shoes are green that fits the personal color of her feet," adding, "They are shoes that keep a certain secret." Yeonjin sometimes goes to the back and wipes (the shoes) off. He explained, "It's not easy to match shoes like that, but they were made because "Yeonjin would look good."
