Hannam-dong in Seoul has a lot of young people, so there are many cafes and desserts. In particular, it was a neighborhood where Knotted Donut and Old Perry Donut, which are hot these days, were located early in the doughnut world. However, I recently visited a cute donut restaurant that challenged the two major mountains of the donut world.
It's the Babycheek donut.
Babycheek, for some reason, the name itself feels soft and cute, and even the color and character of the store fit the image perfectly. Babycheek's location is not the main alley in Hannam-dong, but it was not difficult to find because it was located in the alley that is popular these days, such as Cafe Milestone and McCoy. In particular, as the aforementioned cafes are so famous and delicious, I recommend the course to drink coffee and eat donuts. Normally, there's a separate stomach for rice, coffee, and dessert, right?
Even if it's not that, donuts are enough to take out. It's unfortunate that you can't enjoy it at your seat, but if you don't have time or stomach, you can go to a cafe and pack donuts. You'll be able to come home and take a bite of the donut and wrap it up proudly saying, "It was a wise day."
There is a cute sign next to the building. The exterior is made of brick, so it feels more exotic. In fact, this building itself is also a new building that has just been built in Hannam-dong.
Babycheek is located in a really narrow alley, so bringing a car is not recommended. There's no parking space, but there's a lot of people pulling over the space. That's why I can't just take pictures of the building. Cars come into the frame no matter where I take them.
I visited on a weekday afternoon, and I can see that many kinds of donuts have already been sold out. Especially the bottom one of the three is empty. I felt sorry that I should have come earlier. Aside from the taste, I was curious about what shapes there were, but I left behind the disappointment and started looking at other donuts.
This is Basil and Tomato donuts marked as the signature of Babycheek Donuts. It's an unusual idea to match donuts with vegetables, but that's a good point of combination of tomato and basil! It was a visual full of basil scent just by looking at it, but unfortunately, i didn't choose this one.
Strawberry cream donut is a taste that everyone knows, but it's harder to give up. It's the strawberry season, so I'll make sure to take one.
It was also the most satisfying donut when I came home and ate it. The strawberry cream donut wasn't too sweet or sour and gave it a refreshing taste.
This is Carat cream donut with the best appearance in Babycheeck. It was so cute that the donuts were arranged so that they could be picked up as if they were just pulling carrots out of the soil. It's a new carrot donut that you can't see anywhere else.
I'll take a closer look at the Carat cream donut. In fact, rather than shaking off the soil, I want to take a little more. I think the natural sweet taste of carrots will melt well into the dessert, but I don't think it'll feel like this if I wrap it up, so it's one of the final candidates who failed.
Babycheek's Matcha Cream donut, which was also so pretty. Green and pink is cheating. The flower-shaped donut is also very pretty, but it has pink sugar on it, making it look prettier.
This would be perfect for a gift. I'm sorry I'm going to eat it with the kids, but I couldn't choose Matcha Cream donut.
It was also a very fascinating Creme Brulee donut. Usually, it's easy to imagine brown sugar clothes that look slightly tanned when you think of Creme Brulee, but it's shocking that red sugar is dripping! I couldn't stop tasting the vanilla custard cream in the middle of the round donut, not the end of the sugar clothes. It's hard to tell in the picture, but it's a little cheaper than other donuts because it's a little smaller than other donuts. You can think of it as slightly bigger than the donut that comes out small.
Actually, I thought this donut was the signature of Babycheek, but there was no sign. The taste is also the most popular classic vanilla, and even the iconic American flag throughout the store. However, it was the vanilla cream that you can see at any donut restaurant these days, so it was the most left.
It's a vanilla cream donut that's everywhere, but it's still worth eating at least once. The cream isn't too sweet, and the bread feels softer and more moist than notched. Of course, it doesn't mean that the donut itself is soft because the comparison target is noted. But each one seems to be a crispy and cute donut that goes well with the name Babycheek.
These donuts with Cherries look delicious, too, but I think there's Chocolate cream inside.
Donuts are supposed to be picked by themselves and brought to a plate or packed in a paper box. It's intuitive, but I was wondering if you really took it like this, so I asked again and they said you can put it in a box and bring it to the checkout counter. Please feel free to bring it.
The napkin also has a cute baby picture of Babycheeck, and an American flag decoration.
There are family photographs everywhere that you can see in American houses, and it seems like American houses in the 60's and 70's (especially the country grandfather's) concept. Because there are a lot of pictures of old grandfathers and children that I saw at the exhibition.
The interior of Babycheek is not so wide. There aren't many tables and the space between the tables is narrow. As expected, it's a perfect condition to take away.
Maybe that's why the internal checkout counter is also very small on one side.
And there were cans on the side of the counter, so I thought it would be coffee, but strangely, they were selling beer.
Fruit Truck Sour Ale and Mokaroko Potter. Looking at the name, I think it's going to be a fresh and sweet taste of fruit and mocha, but I'm curious. Next time, I'll have to buy a can. Fruit Truck Sour Ale costs 8,500 won and Mokaroko Potter costs 8,000 won, which is expensive for a capacity of 355 liters.
The paper bag is so cute that it's worth keeping. They say that you need to add money for the bag with the handle, but I just asked for it because it was cute enough.
It's the menu and price of the drinks in Babycheek. Fortunately, the price of drinks is not expensive for a cafe located in Hannam-dong, but if I put a few donuts, it will be more expensive than price of meal, right?
As expected, such a cute envelope. I think it's because I feel good that I'm walking with a few donuts as a gift. As I received a cute and sweet donut as a gift, I hope the other person will feel good like me, and I thought I should stop by next time I give it as a gift.
Babycheek's donuts are recommended as a take away or as a gift.
